Chocolate Moose Anyone?

I just love this image of Riley. It's perfect for Riley fans who want to make that special Valentine's Day card with their favorite chocolate (colored) moose! By the way, did you know that Hanna Stamps has put together a Riley Copic Marker Set? It consists of the perfect colors you'd need for coloring Riley and Sofie G., including colors for the antlers, cheeks and even colors for shadowing. This would have been very helpful when I started coloring my first Rileys!

Stamp: Couch Riley, Things Riley Would Say
Paper: White, Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, DP
Ink: Pitch Black (Adirondack), Copic Markers, Rose Red
Acc: Nestabilities, Dew Drops, Swiss Dot and Hounds Tooth Cuttlebug Folders, Sponge, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals
Tech: Paper Piecing, Sponging

An Award
KellyJean Gettelfinger, of Dancing with Stamps and one of the sweetest girls I've yet to meet, gave me this One Lovely Blog Award. I just want to thank her and to let her know that I think she's pretty special herself. Right now she pretty much runs the NMBS Group Blog, our swap blog, and does a fantastic job making sure things run smoothly. Now, I'd like to grant this award to the following Lovely Bloggers... make sure you check them out:

Make and Takes

These are just a few of the fab-u-lous make-and-takes I made at CHA. The valentine-themed round chipboard box was made at the Provocraft booth. We used flourishes and alphabets cut with the Cricut machine. I decided not to use the words they provided, which was "Amore."

Another fun project was this etched mirror. Our instructor was this lovely lady, Barbie, who made taking the class so much fun. This was the first time I ever used a glass etching product and it wasn't hard at all! The product is from QuicKutz.

The Bind It All booth had this great mini book for us to make. This was the first time I've ever used the BIA and it's on my "must-have" list. Take a look at that latch and leather strap! Love it!

This cute treat box/bag was demonstrated by Debbie Olson herself -- very exciting, indeed! She was at the JustRite booth demonstrating the new sets. You can't see it in this photo, but there are blings added on the ribbon on the box and on the heart tag.

This frame we were able to decorate with just about anything -- seashells, beads -- I chose glass. The booth that sponsored this make and take was an adhesive company and I'm sorry that I forgot their name, but it was fun hot gluing these colored glass pieces. I chose these colors because they were perfect for my daughter's room.

This was a really fast and fun project with large safety pins and beads from Pincharming . The lady at the booth was very nice and even though I had a huge headache, I wanted to stop and make a couple of these. I told her that these would make great embellishment for cards and at the same time, would make a great gift.

A paper company, I forgot the name again, had this make and take. It's a mini scrapbook with three 8.5" x 5.5" textured card stock folded in half, attached by tying ribbon through three punched holes. The front is simply decorated with a piece of pattern paper and a round punched paper. The initial is a raised sticker. Very easy and fast to make.

I hope these will inspire you to make your own creations. I know I have a few ideas of my own, I just need lots of time to make them all!

More CHA Fun

Tuesday was Molly Stamps' first time to get together. Susanna Boyd and I met up with Russ Jones -- yes, the Molly man himself! -- and later, we were joined by our other DT member, Diana Gibbs. So far, this CHA has been amazing!

We stopped by one of my favorite booths, Bind It All -- yes, a must-have after seeing the demo -- and we each made a mini scrapbook.

Here's Russ (Molly) and Diana Gibbs making their mini book.

After putting the book together, we went to another table to decorate the front.

Monday at CHA - Anaheim

I am having so much fun here at the Winter CHA. There is so much to see and so many make and takes to do... it's overwhelming! My sister attended the last two days with me and had a ball visiting all the booths on her long list. She even got to meet Paris Hilton and had a photo taken with her! Today I spent most of the day with Susanna Boyd, Lynn Mercurio and Beth Warner (pictured below). Here are a few pictures from today....

When we first heard the loud alarm sound, we thought it was because someone had won a prize. Finally, someone on the loud speaker ordered everyone out of the building and here are my frantic buddies as we headed outside the back exit.

I finally got to meet one of my favorite stampers, Kimberly Crawford. I was so excited because I'm such a big fan!

These are soldered treasures that were absolutely gorgeous. We couldn't resist placing an order for some of these. Hopefully I'll have time to make some when they arrive and when I do, I'll definitely post it here for you to see.

Here's a card made with punches.

Jane Seymour illustrates painting techniques.

Debbie Olson... she was as nice as could be. I did a make and take with her at the Just Rite booth and what a nice person she is! When I started stamping a couple of years ago, her blog was the very first blog that I had bookmarked. She's a legend, in my book!

I have been a very big fan of Melissa Phillips for a long time now, so when I saw this banner she designed and it happened to be offered as a make and take, I would not leave the booth until I got my chance to make one. It's made with heavy chipboard and comes with it's own chipboard box for storage. One of my favorite make and takes!

These two cute paper cupcakes are from the same template and are just so adorable! They're perfect for party favors or small gift containers.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Cupcake Anyone?

This evening was SCS's Cupcake Reception held at the Marriott Hotel.  This event gave me the chance to finally meet the people that I've only known through blog-surfing, forums and exchanging emails with.  Here are some pictures I wanted to share with you:

Yes, that's me wanting to take the platter of cupcakes home... can you blame me?

I finally met our Kristi Ferro (Hanna Stamps!) who gives the biggest, warmest hugs ever!

Some of the Hanna Girls: Diana, Me, Amanda (with baby Ethan) and Vicki, who didn't want us feeling like too short so she knelt on the floor!

Taylor (Taylored Expressions) and Me

Amanda, Diana, Me and Beth

Diana, Me and Lynn (in St. Louis of SCS and PCP)

Well, that's it for now.  I'll have more to share later from CHA...

Gimme Some Chocolate!

This Couch Riley stamp from Hanna Stamps, just makes me smile the way he's sitting there on the couch munching on that box of chocolates.  What's funny is that I can totally identify with that situation!

Stamp: Couch Riley, What Riley Would Say
Paper: White, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Paper Salon DP
Ink: Pitch Black (Adirondack), Copic Markers
Acc: Red Hemp, Rhinestone Brad (SU!), Shapability Die, Rectangle Scallop Die, (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug Folder, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Prima Flowers, Dew Drops (Robins Nest)

Yesterday, Friday the 23rd, I attended the Copic Certification class in Anaheim, California.  What a great time I had learning so many new things about these fabulous markers.  I ended up sitting at the same table that one of my "online friends" was sitting at!  I had been wanting to meet her for months now, and there we were sitting next to each other without even knowing it at first!
Anyway... the class lasted all day and now I'm ready to spend even more money to get all 300+ colors and all the other accessories!

This class is just the beginning of good times to come.  CHA is being held here in Anaheim, fortunately for me, and it's just the biggest thing in the craft world!  Starting today, I'll actually meet many of the people I'm in contact with online almost every day, like Kristi (Hanna Stamps owner), Russ (Molly Stamps owner), Susanna (founder of Paper Craft Planet) and a whole bunch of other talented stampers!  I'll be sure to post some pictures here.

Have a wonderful Saturday and thanks for stopping by!

Love My Garden Album

My mother-in-law loves to garden.  She is so proud of her plants and often takes pictures of them.  If you've ever seen her roses, you'll understand why she's very proud of her garden. Because of her age, she's no longer is able to enjoy her favorite past time.  How fortunate that she had taken pictures of her pride and joy.

When the new Hanna Stamps set, I Love My Garden, came out, I knew just what to make with it.  I took a very plain 4x6 photo album, removed the front and back cover inserts and replaced them with a cover decorated with some of the images from the new set.  Like I've mentioned in the past, Hannas always come with several great pieces in a set.  This particular one even comes with a tall trellis and a huge sunflower, among other things.

Here's a little tip when using the Nestability die and you'd like part of the image to stick out like Hanna's hand in the photo.  Trim around the part of the picture that you don't want the die to cut and snip into the image just enough so that when the die is inserted, the part that you don't want cut can be lifted "over" the die (see photo).  Now you can run it through the cutting machine and everything will be trimmed except for the "glove" over the die.

Stamp: I Love My Garden (Hanna Stamps)
Paper: Rose Red, Baja Breeze, White, My Mind's Eye DP
Ink: Pitch Black (Adirondack), Copic Markers
Acc: Nestability Oval and Rectangle Scallop Die, Primas, Dew Drops, Piercing Tool, White Gel Pen (Ranger), Mini Glue Dots, Mini Photo Album (Joann's)

Thanks for visiting....

Hay Valentine!

Because of my absence the last couple of weeks, I was so sad about missing the Hanna Stamps! January release party earlier this month. We had FABulous sets released this month and one of those sets, Hay Hanna, the set I chose for this card, comes with so many cute images of animals and farm accessories. For this Country-ish Valentine's Day card, I used Hanna and the flower images, plus part of the sentiment from the set.

Stamp: Hay Hanna
Paper: Kraft, Basic Black, White, Berry Bliss DP
Ink: Pitch Black (Adirondack), Copic Markers, Rose Red Stampin' Marker
Acc: 1/4" White Grosgrain Ribbon, Black Brad, Large Oval Punch, Piercing Tool, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

Thanks for stopping by...

A Happy Heart

It has taken me two weeks to finally start stamping again...

With Valentine's Day around the corner, I thought I'd make a simple card in honor of that day. The layout I used here is from the PCP Sketch Challenge for this week.

Over the next few weeks, you will find over at Paper Craft Planet a Love You photo album with lots of cards and projects put together by the Design Team. A slide show of this album is located on the main page of PCP, just scroll down a bit. We're continually adding to this album, so make sure you check there often for inspiration!

Stamp: A Happy Heart (SU!)
Paper: Mellow Moss, Rose Red, White, DP
Ink: Mellow Moss, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink
Acc: Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Silver Cord, 1/2" Pink Satin Ribbon, Heart Charm

Thank you for stopping by...
