Breast Cancer Awareness month isn't until October, but Kristi (Hanna Stamps owner) wanted to bring out her new set, Breast Cancer Hanna, early because of the three-day breast cancer walk coming soon to her area in Detroit. It's a perfect set to give the walkers a chance to make thank you cards, or help with their fund raising events.

One of the Hanna girls gave us a link to a site that lists the colors of the awareness ribbons and what they stand for. The second card that I made with the Breast Cancer Hanna is actually for me... kind of selfish, huh? Well, I decided to put the colors of the ribbons that pertain to me, or are important to me (according to what's listed on that site). For instance, the green represents the donor awareness ribbon (among other things). I believe strongly in donating whatever organs I have that might help some one's life. Burgundy is for my ever present headaches. Black, for mourning -- my mother and nephew. Purple, for my father's Alzheimer's Disease that is affecting not only him, but pretty much the entire family. For several months now, he can't remember my name... sometimes he doesn't even know who I am. Yellow is for his POW experience which I am so proud of when he talks about it -- he's my hero. Teal is for my food allergies -- ugh!

I, in fact, saw the set earlier when I got an email from Kristi about the 10% of stamp sale, I thought it was adorable!!! What an amazing set and for such a great cause! I loved all the stamps included with it. I absolutely adore your cards!!! WOW!!! your Hannah card is very sweet ... your coloring is amazing :) .. your ribbon card is FANTASTIC! I LOVE everything about it and am sure you will get many more comments about how amazing it is. you really put your heart into these cards. Thanks for sharing them with us!
Both of your cards are gorgeous Adela............I really like the theme of your second card and your words. Funny we must have been sharing some head space with our creations........I posted something that was pretty sentimental on my blog tonight.
