The other day when I was making my husband the "Confidential" sticker matchbook, I decided to keep the new Post Office stamp set out (from Molly Stamps) so that I could make some Christmas gift tags. This was so easy to make and didn't take long at all!
You'll need six pieces each of 3-1/8" x 1-3/4" of Kiwi Kiss and Bravo Burgundy; 12 pieces of 3" x 1-5/8" of Pink Pirouette. For the 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, you'll need six 2" long Moss and six 5-1/2" long Bravo Burgundy.
Here are the steps:
• Stamp the "to and from" in the center of the pink cardstock and trim top corners diagonally.
• Trim top corners of all kiwi and bravo c/s diagonally. These will be a little bit wider than the pink c/s.
• Fold Moss ribbon in half and staple it on the top center of the kiwi c/s. When stapling, have the prong end up on the same side as the ribbon is on.
• Glue pink c/s on top of kiwi and glue an embellishment over the staple "bump." Here I used Martha Stewart Branch punch.
• For the next six pink c/s, use the snowflake punch on the top for a decorative effect.
• Glue pink c/s on top of burgundy and tie burgundy ribbon at bottom of tag. Keep it in place with mini glue dot under knot.
This next step is optional, but I like doing this because it's convenient: cut a strip of red sticky strip about 1" long and stick it to the back of each tag, but don't remove the red liner. When you're ready to use the tag, just peel off the liner and stick this baby on! And you thought this Post Office stamp set was just for envelops and packages!
Have a great day everyone!

Awards...
I often feel emotional when I receive blog awards because I find it hard to believe sometimes that I have made so many wonderful friends without even meeting any of them. I'm even in contact with some of them every day and some definitely hold a special place in my heart.
What's funny is that my daughter calls them my "virtual" friends. Whenever I begin to tell her about one of them, she says, "oh, you mean your 'virtual' friend? ...teenagers!
This beautiful Autumn "I Love You Blog" was actually given to me by two lovely ladies. The first one was given to me by one of my most talented and sweetest virtual friend, Heather, of Heather's Coffee Break. Heather is like a ray of sunshine after a storm. The second award came from the beautiful and ever so talented Niki Estes, of My Paper Creations. Before I "met" Niki, I was a bit intimidated by her because she was just way up there with the "big designers." But after "meeting" her, I found her to be so sweet and so helpful and patient (especially with all my questions). I feel very blessed that you thought of me. Love you both!
The blogs I love to visit (oh, this is hard!) are:
Katie of Paper Makeup
Wendy of Paper, Ink and Smiles
Diana of Stampin with Di
Kim of Clearly Inspired
Erika of Stampin' Mama DesignsThis "Sweet Blog Award" was again given to me by my virtual friend, Heather, of Heather's Coffee Break. I told you she was a sweetie. One of these days, I have got to meet her! Thanks girlfriend. Love ya lots!!!
This special Sweet Blog Award I'd like to present to my very dear Sweet Southern Belle friend, Susanna, of Card of the Week.com and the great, new Paper Craft Planet, an online community for serious paper crafters. If you haven't checked this out, you have got to. It's a great new site where you can have your own page, share ideas with other crafters, chat, get tutorials, and so much more. Sweet Susanna brainstormed this idea. I'm so glad you're also my virtual friend.
Thanks everyone for being a part of my everyday life.
Triptych Christmas
Holy Triptych, my favorite Christmas set from last year. I don't think I'll ever get rid of this set. It's so perfect for what I'm wanting in a Christmas stamp set. Okay, on with this card... the color I chose is from SCS's color challenge this week: Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango and Pixie Pink. I struggled with that one. Not my favorite combination at all.
I stamped the images with Stazon on Vellum cardstock. I then flipped the card over and began to color with watercolor pencil and blender pens. On the third square, I punched a star punch in the center, taped the back with the sticky side showing through the star punch. Pour glitter over the sticky part of the tape, pour the excess back into the container and you've got yourself a shiny star!
RECIPE
Stamp: Holy Triptych
Paper: Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Pixie Pink, Vellum Cardstock
Ink: Old Olive, StazOn, Watercolor Pencil, Blender Pens
Acc: Scallop Square Punch, 1" Square Punch, Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Pink Chunky Glitter, Dew Drops (Robin's Nest), Snow Cuttlebug Folder, Piercing Tool and Mat
Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Thanksgiving Warning from Sophie G
Isn't this Sophie G image adorable? I mean, just look at that face! Originally, I had wanted to make place cards for Thanksgiving, but I ended up making this card instead. The place cards will come later, with the same stamp and sentiment. I thought it would be hilarious to have this image sitting in front of everyone at the dinner table for Thanksgiving. You see, a few days ago, I received a call from my sister who lives in Northern California who designated me to host her and her family for Thanksgiving next month. With their sense of humor, I think they'll appreciate seeing this Sophie G next to their names at the table!
RECIPE
Stamp: Diet Sophie G (Hanna Stamps), Sentiment (Stamping Bella)
Paper: White CS (Georgia Pacific), Really Rust, Blush Blossom, Ginger Blossom DSP (SU!)
Ink: Espresso (Adirondack), Copic Markers
Acc: Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Slot Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, Button, Dimensionals, Swiss Dot Cuttlebug Folder (Provocraft), Scallop Circle Nestability Die (Spellbinders), Dew Drops (Robins Nest), Prima Flowers, Crochet Thread
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Molly Releases Three New Sets Today!
The fantabulous Russ of Molly Stamps released his three newest stamp sets today!!! I have been having so much fun with these sets and I still have more ideas for them. First, I have to say that although I give Russ a hard time at all hours of the day and evening, he does have that "special gift" which I admire and I'm very happy to be a part of his "fun-loving" design team. With that said, if you're reading this, Russ, we must go to South Coast Plaza to replace that hideous yellow dress.
The first two sets being released today are Wings on Things - Big and Wings on Things - Small. The two sets are similar in that the wings are the same in both sets, but the differences are (1) the sizes of the wings, and (2) the sentiments are different on each. In my previous posts, you've seen a glimpse of these two sets.
The third set is the Post Office set. This one is fun, but aren't all of Molly's stamps fun? Russ took the standard "Do Not Bend," "Confidential," "Fragile," just to name a few, and gave it that "Molly" touch. Here's a quick little project I did for my husband to use at work. Once in a while I'd see him come home with a Manila folder and a sloppy handwritten "confidential" on it. So, I came up with these stickers held inside a matchbook style holder, and all he has to do is peel off the sticker and stick it onto the envelop or folder! I used a sheet of printer address labels, stamped on each one, trimmed it and stapled it inside the folded cardstock. That's all there is to it. Easy!
Visit Molly Stamps and check out all the cool stuff and specials going on until Oct. 31st, like the $1 off special! And why not write Russ a little note telling him what you think of his stamps? Just tell him Adela made you write it. Have a wonderful weekend!

Pink Bird
Today, I finally found some time to play with my Big Shot. So, which die did I grab? Well, I reached for the Bird with Leaves and Flower die, of course! There were two things that I had never done before when making this card. The first one was using felt (instead of card stock) to run through the Big Shot. It cut so perfectly without any problems. (TIP: use only stiff felt, regular felt does not work). The second was a technique I used called "Vintage Values" that I learned here.
Vintage Values requires 2-3 shades of the same color of ink and a craft sponge. Start with your lightest shade, use a craft sponge to sweep ink from the outer edges of your card stock inward as far as you want your glow to touch. Repeat with your next shade, but only sweep about 2/3 as far in (so some of the lighter color still shows in the inner sections). Repeat with the darkest shade of ink (if desired), sweeping with short strokes, only about 1/3 of the way in.
RECIPE
Paper: Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose; Pink Pirouette DSP (SU!)
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose
Acc: 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Chocolate Chip Twill Ribbon, Distressing Tool, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Stiff Felt, Big Shot Bird with Leaves and Flower Die, Nestabilities, Dew Drops

Dream
This set is already one of my favorites and it hasn't even been released yet! It's called Wings on Things, by Molly Stamps and is scheduled to be released this Friday. It's such a fun set with so many possibilities. For this card, instead of coloring in the wings, I decided to stamp it onto patterned paper. I really liked how it turned out! The reddish color are the roses and the green are the leaves, but you'd never know!
I decided to make this card for the SCS Color Combo Challenge (CC189), combining Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss and using the Sketch Challenge from Our Creative Corner. They have some wonderful cards over there, so check it out.
RECIPE
Stamp: Wings on Things - Small, Wings on Things - Large (Molly Stamps)
Paper: White (Georgia Pacific), Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Bella Rose DSP (SU!)
Ink: Espresso (Adirondack)
Acc: Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots (SU!), Swiss Dot Cuttlebug Folder, Stickles (Ranger), Dew Drops (Robins Nest), Scallop Square Nestabilities Die (Spellbinders), Square Charm and Wire (to make buckle)
Thanks for stopping by! Remember, this set will be available this Friday... Yay!!!

Stamping on a Canvas Tote-My Tutorial
Maybe I'm just plain lazy, but when it comes to techniques, I'd rather try to figure things out myself than to look it up online somewhere and read someone else's instructions. That is the reason for my title: "My Tutorial."
One of the sweetest, most loving little girl in the world (and big sister to Riley -- remember the cute little boy from last month?) was having a 6th birthday party on the 19th, and I thought I'd make her a little tote to put some of her gifts in. This basic canvas tote was perfect to hold art supplies for a budding artist like herself. Before I began stamping on the canvas, I wanted to add a photo to it to make it more personalized. After picking out a picture of her and resizing it, I was ready to print it onto a transfer sheet (you can find these where printer labels are sold). After ironing onto the fabric (instructions are easy to follow), then you're ready to begin stamping...SUPPLIES
Stamp: Quirky Alphabet by Molly Stamps
Ink: Copic Marker or Fabric Marker, Watercolor Crayons (SU!)
Acc: Rose Red Double-Stitched Ribbon, Clear Button, Rub Ons: Love and Happiness, Cherished Memories (SU!), Heat n Bond Iron-On Adhesive, Water Spritzer, Ruler
Place a cardboard or plastic sheet to line the inside of the tote to protect it in case of a bleed through.
Starting with the middle letter of the name, either stamp the letter on a very damp folded paper towel or spritz the stamp with the water spritzer. Take the watercolor crayon and write over the stamp. If it's too dry, add more water; if it's too wet, soak up the excess with a paper towel. If needed, use a ruler to help keep your letters straight and even.
Before stamping onto the canvas, check to make sure the stamp is still wet, if it has become dry, spritz a little water on it then stamp the letter on the center of the canvas. Don't worry if the letter is faded, as long as it's visible enough.Next step is to color in the stamped letter. On my project, I used Copics to color in my letters, but Fabric Markers should work just as well. (I use Fabric Marker on my girls' t-shirts all the time and it works great!)
Repeat with all letters until done.At this point, you can decorate the tote any way you'd like. I decided to add a matching ribbon and a bow. On the bow, I decided to add a clear button and used rub-ons to add a little bit of "character" to it. Those rub-ons are fun, if you've never tried them before.
TIP: I found it very easy to use an iron-on fabric adhesive, Heat n Bond, to attach the ribbon. Just follow the instructions on the package and within five minutes, I had a nice border.
Thanks for visiting and have a great week!

Sweet 16 Ball
Oh, to be 16 again...No, thanks! Once is quite enough for me.
My older daughter's friend had her 16th birthday party recently and it was a formal dance in a ball room. Now, my daughter lives in jeans and tank tops. Dresses, especially formal ones, and high heels are like punishment to her. Naturally, once she got there, she took her heels off.
Anyway, when I found out it was going to be a formal party, I immediately knew which stamp to use -- Daintybella, of course! I haven't made too many Bella's lately, so I'm very happy to post this one.
RECIPE
Stamp: Daintybella
Paper: Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant
Ink: Pitch Black (Adirondack), Copic Markers, Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink (SU!)
Acc: Eggplant 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Prima Flowers, Dew Drops (Robin's Nest), Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder (Provo Craft)
Thanks again for stopping by!

My Angel Wings - A Molly Sneak Peek!
I am SO EXCITED about the new set that Molly Stamps will be releasing within the next couple of weeks! I asked Russ, owner of Molly Stamps, if I could show just a little bit of it because I'm just loving it! The new set is called Wings on Things, but there are actually two sets: one is a large set with sentiments, and the other, a smaller set with quite a few more sentiments. The set I used on this card is from the smaller set. I'm pretty sure that this one will be irresistible! So, keep your eye out for it the next few days!
The color combination for this card was inspired by today's color challenge on SCS (CC188), to use Pink Pirouette, Black, with White (optional). For the layout, I decided to use the Mojo Monday (mojo56) sketch challenge.
RECIPE
Stamp: Wings on Things (Molly Stamps - available soon)
Paper: White (Georgia Pacific), Vellum Cardstock, Pink Pirouette, Basic Black (SU!)
Ink: Pitch Black (Adirondack), Jet Black StazOn, VersaMark, Copic Markers
Acc: Circle Die Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Dew Drops (Robin's Nest), Dimensionals, Hologram Embossing Powder, Mini Glue Dots (SU!), Prima Flowers
The picture is of my niece at 6 months old. Thanks, Avary!
And thanks for visiting!

PJ Party Invitation!!!
This Sleepy Time Riley stamp has got to be one of the cutest Riley stamps ever! Just look at those PJ's and fluffy slippers... not to mention, the way he's just standing there like a sweet little toddler. Precious! So precious, that I thought this image would be perfect for an invitation to a sleep-over party!
The invitation is slipped into the pocket that I created by sewing a piece of rectangle felt on the patterned paper. The felt makes it seem "softer," kind of like a blankie. The image is held in place by mini glue dots and secured by the ribbon slipped thru the slits (see photo).
Recipe
Stamp: Sleepy Time Riley (Hanna Stamps), Please Come (SU!)
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, East Coast Prep DSP (SU!)
Ink: Pitch Black (Adirondack), Real Red and Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Markers (SU!), Copic Markers
Acc: Tempting Turquoise 1/4" Ribbon, Rectangle Hand Punch, 1/8" Circle Hand Punch, White Felt, Sewing Machine and Thread, Large Star Brad

Simple Saturday - An Under 10 Minute Card
I found an unused 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" (folded long ways) white cardstock in my pile of "stuff" and just had to do something with it. I couldn't put it back in the I-don't-where-to-put-it pile, so I made this very simple card.
• Using the Script (I think that's the name of it) Cuttlebug Folder, emboss the right side of the front.
• Cut a piece of Kiwi Kiss c/s at 4-1/8" x 2" and trim one of the long edge with the scallop edge punch.
• Cut a piece of Bella Rose DSP a little bit narrower than the Kiwi Kiss, just enough so the scallop edge shows under it. Adhere on top of Kiwi Kiss c/s.
• Tie a matching ribbon along the left side of the piece you just put together. I used Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon. (Tip: to make sure my ribbon stays put, I use sticky strip over it even if the rest of the c/s uses another type of adhesive.)
• Adhere along the left side of the card base, over the part that is not embossed.
• What's left is to add whichever sentiment you'd like. I used All Holidays with the small and regular oval punches. I also dragged the edges of the white oval over the ink pad to define the edge.
I think typing this took longer than actually making the card!
Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for visiting!

A and F Gift Card Holder & Tutorial
My girls like getting clothes from A and F and I really like it when they get gift certificates from that shop because they have the best gift card holders! (See photo below.) It's made with sturdy cardboard, covered with fabric and opens like a book with a slot for the card. I save these whenever
we get them and with a little bit of patterned paper and ribbon, you've got yourself an easy altered gift card holder!
Okay, so you don't have a gift card holder from this store? You can make one with this tutorial I prepared.TUTORIAL
This is the tutorial of the A and F gift card holder. It can be made for any occasion, but with Christmas coming soon, I thought I'd make it with a Christmas theme.
SUPPLIESSki Slope DSP - 3 patterns:
• 6-7/8" x 5-1/4"
• 5-3/8" x 3-3/4"
• 4-1/8" x 3-5/8" (not pictured)
1-3/8" Square Punch
2 Ribbons 21" each
Felt Fusion Snowflake
Rhinestone Brad
Whisper White c/s: 3-3/4" x 2"
Cardboard from DSP pkg - 4 pieces:
• 4-1/8" x 2-3/4" (2 pieces)
• 3-1/8" x 2-1/8" (2 pieces)
On the largest DSP, score 1/2" on all sides and fold. Clip diagonally at corners right before the corner fold.
Take the two large cardboard pieces and place them under the folds leaving about a 3/8" gap in the center. Adhere the DSP on all four sides.
How to Make the Slot for the Gift Card:
Take the smallest DSP with the wrong side facing up. Mark 3/8" on the right side with a ruler and pen/pencil. Measure 3" from that line to the other side and mark that with another line.
With the 1-3/8" square punch, push the paper all the way into the punch until it can't go anymore. Align the right side of the punch to the line drawn on the right side and punch.
Repeat on the left side and punch. Then, insert paper all the way in the center of paper and punch again. Now, you will need to work on the other side of the paper.
This is how the paper will look.
Continue the same process until you have a rectangle cut out.
Turn the paper over. Trim 1/8 " off lengthwise on both sides. Fold the two sides you've just trimmed, under.
Place the pocket piece on the right side of the medium size DSP (inside cover), aligning the right sides. Adhere only the two sides to the DSP. Fold the bottom under towards the back.
This is the back view. Adhere the bottom of the pocket piece to the back of the inside cover.
Going back to the main piece, take the smaller cardboard (from DSP pkg) and adhere it to the area in white. Do not cover the middle spine.
Adhere the inside cover with the pocket to the main piece and add the Whisper White cardstock for writing a personal message.

It's Been One Year? Blog Candy Time!
Hey... I just saw a reminder in my side bar that my Blogoversary is in 3 days! Time sure has flown and I have learned so much. I started this blog October of '07 with just a little bit of stamping and zero blogging experience. I'd idolize and stalk so many of those "well-known" bloggers of the stamping cyber-community and try to learn as much as I could from them. I never thought I'd last a year! I've made great friends and would not trade this year for anything!
Now, on to the yummies... I have some very nice goodies for y'all (part of the prize is a Hanna Stamps set!). My actual Blogoversary is this Friday, the 10th, so from now until Friday 8:00 a.m. (pst), all I need from you to enter this contest is to leave me a comment telling me what your favorite part is when visiting some one's blog. There's no right or wrong answer -- easy! Then, I'll pick a winner sometime Friday. So, let's hear from you!
Kiwi Thanksgiving
This 5-1/4" x 5-1/4" card met two challenges. The first challenge is today's SCS Color Challenge (CC187) of Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss and Tangerine Tango. The second challenge is from the OCC Challenge Bling on the Bling, which was to use bling -- glitter, rhinestones, anything shiney!

Day 3 - Fuzzy Wuzzy Bear
It's Day Three of Hanna Stamps' sneak peek week. That means tomorrow is the BIG PAR-TAY! It's not too late to participate in some of our challenges over at the Hanna SCS forum and get your name included in the draw for prizes. As a matter of fact, this little card is for yesterday's Challenge, which was to use two or more embellishments. This fuzzy bear is from the new Vintage Toys stamp set, another new Hanna Stamps set being released tomorrow at midnight. My embellishments here? Ribbons, brads and buttons.
I did another experiment yesterday. I needed to do something special about this bear. I remembered that I recently bought some felt and wondered what would happen if I stamped the bear on felt. I tried stamping with my Pitch Black Adirondack and it worked great, as long as you let it dry naturally (don't heat set or the fabric burns or gets stiff and rough -- believe me). Next, I colored it in with my Copics, glued it to a piece of cardstock, and cut around the edges. And that's my Fuzzy Wuzzy. I wasn't sure which sentiment to use, so I left it blank for now.
The card was made with the Big Shot die by folding the cardstock in half before running it through the machine. I then ran 3/4 of the patterned paper (Crate Paper) through the machine and trimmed the edge with a border punch. Glue at the bottom and at the bottom sides. Attach the upper sides with brads that are first put through small buttons. Now, push brad through all layers, including the ribbon.
Thanks again for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment if you want to be one of the lucky winners.
